Volunteer Centre in Three Rivers

Who we are:

The Volunteer Centre in Three Rivers is a service provided by Three Rivers CVS which was set up as a charity in Rickmansworth in 1997 to support voluntary, charitable and community groups in the district.

It is quality accredited by Volunteering England and is working towards level 2 PQASSO

The Centre is presently funded by the Big Lottery Basis Fund.

We are located in Basing House 46 High Street in between Watersmeet Theatre and the Library.

Christmas activities. Christmas revellers were encouraged to take up volunteering at Rickmansworth's popular Victorian evening by enthusiastic Volunteer Centre staff.The human fruit machine operated by three comely Victorian ladies complete with bonnets and baskets attracted many punters who took the chance to win a chocolate and a leaflet about volunteering.
Kathe Clark, Volunteer Centre manager, said: "We had a great time. It was wonderful to meet so many families and hopefully encourage people to think about volunteering. The Victorian evening, complete with the turning on of the Christmas lights, showed what a vibrant community there is in Rickmansworth and Three Rivers as a whole.
"Voluntary organisations are a vital part of that and we pride ourselves on being able to help put volunteers in touch with the right organisation for them."

For Volunteers we provide:

• A volunteering information service for people interested in volunteering – by personal visit, telephone or email
• Information on local voluntary opportunities
• 1:1 confidential discussions with no pressure to make on the spot decisions
• Information on volunteer roles and responsibilities
• Fact sheets/leaflets e.g. volunteering whilst on state benefits
• Occasional special events e.g. Volunteer Speed Matching
• A supported volunteering project called ‘Threshold’ which helps individuals with extra support needs who would like to volunteer
• Team challenges for groups of people who would like a volunteering project e.g. for groups of employees from companies
