Thank
you to our venue sponsors Lloyds Bar @ The Waterend
Barn and also to Sopwell House Spa and Thornton's
Chocolates who provided goodies for a prize draw. |
"I want to do everything!" "Brilliant
Event" so said volunteers and organisations at
the event on February 11th. It was love at first sight
for 40 potential volunteers with 24 local groups who
had three minutes to seduce them to find their perfect
match. Our event saw volunteers move from table to
table in a whistle stop of first dates. At the end,
volunteers chose who'd they'd have second dates with
to find a partnership made in heaven. We got the thumbs
up to repeat this event later in the year.

The
GET INVOLVED! North Hertfordshire Voluntary Sector
Fair attracted exhibitors and visitors, to this large-scale
volunteering event for the not-for-profit sector on
6 & 7 October 2007.
Exhibitors
ranged from leading and local charities, youth organisations
to sport / art organisations, clubs and societies.
For those people already working in the voluntary
sector, the event provided plenty of opportunities
to network and attract new members and volunteers.

Royston
Make a Difference
Day 2007
Local
Volunteers and Time Bank Members made a difference
to the local community by painting the entrance area
and Harris Room at the Coombes Community Centre. This
event will benefit the residents of Royston and the
groups that use the centre as a base for their clubs
and activities for years to come.
The Volunteers were of all ages and, as the event
was in half term, it was a chance for our young volunteers
to get involved too. Howard Guard, High Sheriff of
Hertfordshire, lent his support to the Hertfordshire
Volunteer Centres’ campaign to Value Volunteers
in Hertfordshire and came along on the day to paint
the ceilings.
